Popeyes is one of the few fast food places I love! Spicy chicken tenders are my jam - with Mardis gras mustard of course! Red beans and rice are great and have a great Smokey flavor! I enjoy their spicy wings as well - crispy breading and the chicken is perfectly cooked every time. Service can be hit or miss, but that's every fast food joint right now!
By micki jessen my husband and like Popeyes for different reasons! He likes the regular not spicy and it's crispy great chicken and I love the spicy sandwich they have the best sandwich spicy or other non spice., service is great window service included!
On a recent work trip, my coworker introduced me to Popeyes. I have never been to it because I'm not really a fried chicken fan and I figured this place would be like KFC which I've always found gross ha ha, but I was very pleasantly surprised with how varied Popeyes menu is and how truly wonderful the food was. My sandwich was probably the best chicken sandwich I've ever had in my life, no kidding! It was all white meat but managed to stay moist and delicious, It was perfectly cooked. The bun is better than you would expect to get at a drive-through, it was like brioche. So soft and flavorful. They didn't drown it in mayonnaise thankfully- it had just a little bit for that perfect zing, and there were two crunchy fresh pickles on top. I was also happy to see all of the choices for side dishes- I got the Cajun fries, and they were perfectly seasoned. I'm picky about my fries so I like when I don't have to add any salt or other seasoning. My coworker got the red beans and rice, and gave me a bite- it was perfect too. I'm not typically a biscuit fan, but Popeyes strawberry biscuits are really special and delicious and I am also not really an apple pie fan (would always rather have cherry pie!,) but their apple pies are really delicious- with lots of cinnamon sugar on them. I never would've guessed that I'd be writing a five star review for Popeyes, but here we are! We went through the drive-thru and the young woman working there, named Grace, couldn't have been more wonderful. Our order was kind of complicated and we needed to add a couple items and take off a couple that we had added accidentally, but Grace rolled with it all, and kept a smile on her face- she was very sweet. I just love good customer service!
First, the two-star part of the review. Ordered through the app and arrived at 6:30 p.m. on a Saturday night. This is a mistake. Drive-thru line long and not budging, so went inside. Indoor line long and not budging. There is no "fast" in Popeye's fast food at this time of night. I assume it's a staffing issue because the workers I could see were trying hard. Having said that, I like Popeye's spicy chicken as a rule, and once it was finally my turn, it was fresh, crispy and delicious. The workers, under stress due to the inside and outside lines, remained cheerful and helpful.
